The plug was pulled on the Clinton-Tecumseh Ford-Lincoln-Mercury dealership this week.
Ford Motor Credit Co. took possession of the business on Monday and shipped out its remaining inventory of new and used cars. All property except the buildings and land are to be sold to help pay down more than $5.3 million the dealership owes to Ford.
The real estate is owned by Tarik Daoud, a majority partner in the dealership. It will be up to him to decide what becomes of the buildings and land, said Meredith Libbey, a spokeswoman for Ford Motor Credit. The vehicles and parts will be sold to other dealers, she said, and the furniture, machinery and other personal property will be sold at auction.
