  • From the time she was very young, Ashley McAnally knew she wanted to be a cosmetologist some day. She even practiced on her dolls, one of which she still has all these years later. “I’m surprised it has any hair left,” she said, laughing. McAnally went on to eventually open her own salon in Adrian before closing it a few years ago when she married and became a mother. Now, she is the owner of Hair Junction at 913 S. Main St., Unit A, in Adrian. The salon opened in August.

Adrian Symphony Orchestra: "One Singular Sensation"

  • 13 photos for sale Buy a Photo
  • Start to finish, guest conductor J. Ernest Green Green programmed Sunday’s Adrian Symphony Orchestra concert to perfection, both with his choice of music and in the way he skillfully established a real connection not only between himself and the audience, but between Marvin Hamlisch and the audience as well. By the time the concert reached its conclusion, rather poignantly at first with a Hamlisch song sung initially by Green himself and then segueing into a video clip of Hamlisch singing the same tune, before an ebullient orchestral finale, it was pretty clear exactly why Hamlisch — to steal a line from one of his songs, as well as the title of the concert — was, in his own right, “one singular sensation.”
