Elevator fire

  • Michigan State Police closed the intersection of Gorman Road and Hodges Highway Wednesday afternoon while firefighters battled a blaze in an old grain elevator in Ogden Township. Riga Township firefighters were assisted by crews from Adrian, Palmyra Township, Madison Township, Morenci, Tecumseh, Blissfield Township, Metamora, Ohio, and Richfield Township, Ohio. The building was a total loss. The structure was located at the corner of Hodges and Station Roads behind the Cornerstone Baptist Church.
